Vedder Price

Employment Vedder Alignment

Vedder Price maintains an outstanding reputation as a leading employment law firm, with strong credentials and experience counseling and representing management clients of all sizes on a wide range of employment matters—from Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) counseling and wage and hour litigation to employee benefits, executive compensation and international employment law issues.

You can expect a strong team of attorneys who concentrate in employment law and its various areas and who are involved at the forefront of developments in this area. This enables us to provide a level of support on short notice and on an array of matters that smaller labor law practices and boutique firms cannot provide.

Broad employment law credentials across industries.

Our attorneys combine deep employment law knowledge with experience in the manufacturing, construction, transportation, retail, health care, mining, airline, food, telecommunications, financial services, insurance and publishing industries, to name just a few.

Wrongful Discharge

We counsel clients on the best strategies for minimizing the risk of litigation and the potential for multiple claims, jury trials and punitive, pain and suffering and other damages. When litigation does occur, we are highly experienced in defending cases involving retaliatory discharge, breach of contract, fraud and other claims.

Employment Counseling & Equal Employment Opportunity

Our employment attorneys apply progressive employee relations approaches to counsel clients on difficult and sensitive compliance, single-plaintiff and large class action litigation and day-to-day employment and personnel matters. We provide counsel in situations involving sensitive individual employment decisions, with a view toward both enhancing employee relations and productivity while minimizing litigation risks. We track the enactment and development of federal, state and local EEO legislation, in order to provide clients with an expeditious and prudent strategy at the initial administrative stages of an EEO investigation and in defending against class-wide claims affecting thousands of employees.

Employee Benefits Law

Our employee benefits lawyers assist with design, implementation and legal compliance of profit sharing, pension, welfare and executive compensation programs of all types. We have extensive benefits experience related to collective bargaining, merger and acquisition activity, and U.S. federal agency investigations. In addition, our attorneys have litigated hundreds of cases arising under ERISA, involving claims for benefits, alleged breaches of fiduciary duty, withdrawal liability claims and plan amendments and terminations, among many other matters.
