Vedder Price is Recognized in Multiple Top Deal Awards at Airline Economics Aviation 100 Deals of the Year 2022
Vedder Price is pleased to announce that the firm played a key role in advising clients in four transactions that were recognized by the “Aviation 100 Deals of the Year Awards 2022.”
The Airline Economics Aviation 100 Deals of the Year Awards 2022 recognizes the most significant deals closed in 2021 from around the world. “I am very proud of Vedder Price and every attorney that played a role in these four deals spanning the globe,” said Global Transportation Finance Chair Geoffrey R. Kass. “This reflects our continued efforts to remain innovators in our industry.”
Vedder Price was recognized in the following categories:
- Sustainability Capital Markets Deal of the Year: Vedder Price advised the initial purchasers in the offering of $553.610 million of British Airways Pass Through Certificates, Series 2021-1 in two classes. The Vedder Price team consisted of Jeffrey T. Veber, Kevin A. MacLeod, Clay C. Thomas, Neil Poland, Matthew P. Larvick, Christopher G. Barrett, John Pearson, Majk Kamami and Daniel L. Spivey.
- Asia Pacific Supported Finance Deal of the Year: Vedder Price represented BNP Paribas in the senior secured loan facility, supported by a Balthazar aircraft non-payment insurance product, of four A321neo aircraft on lease to Wizz Air. The Vedder Price team consisted of Ji Woon Kim and Greg Whillis of our Singapore office.
- Americas Supported Finance Deal of the Year: Vedder Price represented CA-CIB in an AFIC-supported secured financing of six Embraer E175 aircraft for Republic Airways. The Vedder Price team was led by Cameron A. Gee, Justine L. Chilvers and Matthew P. Larvick (tax).
- New Fund of the Year: Vedder Price represented ABL Aviation in the joint venture created between ABL Aviation and Ellington Management Group to invest in commercial aviation assets. ABL Aviation will act as servicer and manager for all aircraft, while Ellington will provide financial and strategic support. The Vedder Price team was led by Cameron. A Gee.
