John Pearson is a Partner and a member of the firm’s Global Transportation Finance team.

As an asset finance solicitor focused on aviation, Mr. Pearson has worked in London, Copenhagen and Dubai, which has afforded him a wide range of international experience assisting financiers, lessors, operators and aircraft managers with their (i) secured loan and lease financings, (ii) individual and portfolio sales and novations, and (iii) operating and finance leases. 

Since 2020, Mr. Pearson has been recognized as an Aviation Rising Star by Euromoney Legal Media Group’s Expert Guides.  Since 2020, he has been recommended by Legal 500 UK in Transport Finance and Leasing as a “key lawyer”. In 2015, 2017 and 2018, Vedder Price was named Airline Economics Aviation 100 Law Firm of the Year.

Mr. Pearson is a leading member of Global Transportation Finance’s ESG Task Force, delivering emissions training to clients and assisting with their SAF, carbon offset and sustainability-linked transactions.  He has moderated key panels on ESG matters at conferences in Dublin and London, and co-authored a well-received paper on the aviation leasing industry’s participation in the carbon markets.

Mr. Pearson is involved in supporting the firm’s educational and knowledge management functions, has had many articles published by the International Law Office, and works on the firm’s GATS, CORSIA and UK ETS projects.

Mr. Pearson is a co-founder and co-chair of Vedder Pride, Vedder Price’s LGBTQ+ affinity group.
