Associate

Sergio E. Molina is an Associate in Vedder Price’s Miami office and a member of the firm’s Litigation practice area.

Mr. Molina focuses his practice on complex commercial matters, including domestic and international disputes involving contracts, business torts, real property, intellectual property, bankruptcy litigation, asset forfeiture, and information privacy protection. He has significant experience representing business entities and consumers alike throughout every aspect of litigation in federal and state courts, from pre-suit demands and negotiations to trial and appeal.

Mr. Molina has previously represented high-exposure clients in active litigation over multimillion-dollar assets. He also litigated the enforcement of creditors’ rights on behalf of financial institutions and represented banks in the protection of account holders’ private financial data. While his work as a litigator has been predominantly in private practice, Mr. Molina has also gained experience with both civil and criminal matters as a judicial extern to judges in both Florida’s Eleventh Judicial Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

Mr. Molina received his law degree with a concentration in Intellectual Property, Technology and Cybersecurity Law from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad College of Law. While in law school, he served as a member of the Nova Law Review, the NSU Trial Association and Moot Court Society.

Apart from his legal work, Mr. Molina is actively involved in his community. He focuses on assisting Florida’s LGBTQ+ community and advocates for the implementation of diversity and inclusion programs in local, national and international organizations. He is also a published author on matters addressing the intersection of the law—particularly as it relates to data privacy, artificial intelligence, intellectual property and commercial activity—and its impacts on marginalized communities. Mr. Molina is a native Spanish speaker and assists in educating legal professionals and law students in Mexico on litigation practices.

Mr. Molina draws on his industry-agnostic experience to take an interdisciplinary and academic approach to his practice that allows him to provide his clients with practical, client-centered, and solution-driven strategies through all aspects of litigation.
