Vedder Price is pleased to announce the addition of attorney James P. Looby as a new Shareholder in the firm’s Chicago office.

With more than 10 years of experience, Looby will join the firm’s Labor and Employment practice area with a focus on class and collective wage and hour and other employment related litigation matters and counseling clients on complying with related laws.  

“Adding James to our expanding team significantly strengthens our class and collective action and general employment litigation capabilities,” said Vedder Price Shareholder and Chair of the Labor and Employment practice area, Elizabeth N. Hall. “His extensive experience and the deep client relationships he has developed throughout his career will serve him well at the firm, and we are thrilled to welcome him to our team.” 

Prior to joining Vedder Price, Looby was an employment litigator with Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP’s Chicago office where he assisted employers in securing favorable resolutions of wage and hour, discrimination, breach of contract, retaliation and a panoply of other claims.  He also previously served as a law clerk to Judge William J. Bauer of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and Judge Thomas M. Durkin of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He received his law degree magna cum laude from DePaul University College of Law and his undergraduate degree with Honor from Michigan State University.
