Mr. Tilghman has served as first-chair trial counsel in numerous high-stakes commercial disputes, including matters pending in state and federal courts across the United States, as well as in various arbitral forums.

Health Care and Life Sciences Litigation 

Mr. Tilghman focuses his practice on complex business disputes in the pharmaceutical, health care and life sciences industries. Since 2020, Mr. Tilghman has successfully prosecuted or defended claims on behalf of pharmaceutical, health care and life sciences companies involving in excess of $1 billion in dispute.

Through his vast industry experience, including representing several Fortune 500 companies, Mr. Tilghman has gained deep familiarity with industry supply chains, claim reimbursement, and the various state and federal regulatory regimes that apply to health care and life sciences companies. Mr. Tilghman also has developed relationships with many leading industry experts, positioning him to handle a variety of complex business disputes involving life sciences companies.

Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution

Mr. Tilghman has extensive experience with arbitration and other forms of alternative dispute resolution (“ADR”), including handling claims before the most prominent ADR forums in the country. Mr. Tilghman has successfully defended or prosecuted to final award arbitrable claims involving hundreds of millions of dollars in damages, often in the health care and life sciences industry.

Defense of Privacy Claims

Mr. Tilghman regularly represents and counsels clients in the defense of privacy claims and class actions and has written extensively on issues of biometric privacy. He also frequently represents businesses in matters involving trade secrets, confidential information and restrictive covenants.

Mr. Tilghman received his law degree from DePaul University College of Law, summa cum laude, and his undergraduate degree from Boston College, cum laude.
