Fernando L. Tamayo, Miami Office
Fernando L. Tamayo is a Shareholder in Vedder Price’s Miami office and a member of the firm’s Litigation practice area. Mr. Tamayo focuses his practice on government investigations, white collar criminal defense and complex commercial litigation. He works extensively in anti-corruption, anti-bribery and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) compliance and training and advisory services.
In his government investigations and white collar criminal defense practice, Mr. Tamayo represents clients in a wide variety of matters including domestic and cross-border investigations, federal grand jury proceedings, trial work in federal and state courts and FCPA compliance. He has defended both individuals and corporations against allegations of money laundering, mail and wire fraud, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations and other charges. Mr. Tamayo has also spearheaded internal investigations for corporate clients in Latin America, Asia, and the Middle East. As part of his practice, Mr. Tamayo has also successfully appealed red notice designations to Interpol and defends individuals against extradition to foreign countries. He also has experience representing clients in the appeal of sanctions designations before OFAC, and in the applications for OFAC licenses.

Brent K. Yamashita, San Francisco Office
Brent K. Yamashita is a Shareholder in Vedder Price’s San Francisco office and a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property group. Mr. Yamashita is a seasoned litigator with over 25 years of experience representing technology companies of all sizes. He has tried eight patent cases and argued thirteen claim construction hearings in the federal district courts and the United States International Trade Commission (ITC). He has argued as lead counsel in numerous inter partes review (IPR) proceedings in the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He specializes in cases and technologies involving circuit design, computer hardware and software, wireless communication and networking.

Misha Daha, New York Office
Misha Daha is a Shareholder at Vedder Price’s New York office and a member of the firm’s Finance & Transactions group. Ms. Daha represents closed-end funds as borrowers and as lenders and investment and commercial banks in domestic and cross-border financing transactions. She has extensive experience advising her clients in high profile, high value transactions and on a variety of finance matters including net-asset value facilities, subscription/capital call facilities, hybrid and umbrella financings for funds and other secured and unsecured lending transactions. Ms. Daha also advises lenders and insurers or re-insurers in a wide variety of letter of credit facilities and revolving credit facilities including “Funds at Lloyd’s (FAL)” facilities.
Javier A. Lopez, Miami Office
Javier "Javy" Lopez is a Shareholder in Vedder Price's Miami office and a member of the firm's Litigation practice area. Mr. Lopez focuses his practice on complex commercial, business and civil litigation in U.S. federal and state courts. He has extensive experience representing high-profile companies and individuals in a wide range of legal matters, including contract and business disputes, commercial transactions, intellectual property matters, fraud, defamation, class actions and shareholder disputes. Mr. Lopez is a seasoned trial lawyer and was lead counsel in securing one of the top 10 largest jury verdicts in the State of Florida and one of the highest settlements in the United States in 2022
Tomasz Kulawik, Washington, DC Office
Tomasz Kulawik is a Shareholder in Vedder Price’s Washington, DC office and a member of the firm’s Finance & Transactions group. Mr. Kulawik focuses his practice on leveraged finance and all types of secured lending, including acquisition financings, asset-based lending and refinancings in both the syndicated and direct lending spaces, both domestically and in Europe and in Latin America.

Jason DuVall, Dallas Office
Jason DuVall is a Shareholder in Vedder Price’s Dallas office and a member of the firm’s Finance & Transactions group. Mr. DuVall has extensive experience in corporate M&A matters, having represented numerous financial institutions, private equity funds, mezzanine funds, agent banks, borrowers and other institutional investors. Transactions he has worked on have involved senior and subordinated debt, asset-based lending, equipment and project financings, secured and unsecured lending, structured financings, health care financings and other forms of debt and equity financing.

Hoyoon Nam, New York Office
Hoyoon Nam is a Shareholder at Vedder Price and a member of the Global Transportation Finance (GTF) team in the firm's New York office. Mr. Nam frequently represents banks, investment funds, corporate borrowers and financial sponsors in connection with financing and restructuring transactions. He also works on direct lending and other private credit matters, representing private debt providers in connection with acquisition debt, special situations, rescue and bridge financings as well as working capital and liquidity-enhancing credit transactions.

Kate F. Buckley is a Shareholder at Vedder Price and a member of the Finance & Transactions group in the firm's New York office. Jeremy M. Alexander is a Shareholder in Vedder Price’s Washington, DC office and Chair of the Health Care & Life Sciences practice group. Mr. Alexander focuses his practice on managing intricate regulatory, transactional and enforcement issues for health care providers and suppliers. Todd F. Lurie, Washington, D.C. Office
Todd F. Lurie is a Shareholder at Vedder Price and a member of the Investment Services group in the firm’s Washington, DC office. He focuses his practice on cleared and non-cleared derivatives, and investment management advising, including fund formation and regulation. Before entering private practice, Mr. Lurie was Vice President and Associate General Counsel for MetLife, where he was responsible for strategic advisory for MetLife’s global derivatives platform, including documentation, transactional review and engagement with state, federal and global regulators. Over the course of his career, Mr. Lurie has also spent several years working for corporate financial institutions.
