London Employment Associate Rachel Easton authored an article in People Management on marital discrimination cases, discussing a recent Employment Appeal Tribunal (EAT) ruling that highlights how difficult it is to successfully claim discrimination because of marital status.

“When seeking to bring a successful claim for discrimination as a result of marital status, the reason for the less favourable treatment must actually be their marital status, not because they were treated unfavourably because of their marriage to a particular person,” says Easton.
