Philip Mowery and Patrick Spangler to Speak at PLI’s Acquiring or Selling the Privately Held Company 2015 Program
Shareholders Philip L. Mowery and Patrick W. Spangler will speak at PLI's Acquiring or Selling the Privately Held Company 2015 program at the University of Chicago Gleacher Center in downtown Chicago. The program focuses on the steps associated with acquiring and selling a privately held company, whether it is a large independent corporation, a division or subsidiary of a large public company, or a smaller venture capital-backed or family-owned entrepreneurial enterprise.
Mr. Spangler's session will discuss various labor- and employment-related topics, including key employment/labor differences in stock vs. asset transactions, business restructuring, and union issues among other subjects. Mr. Mowery's session will cover employee benefit topics, including identifying ERISA liabilities, integrating seller's and buyer's plans, transferring plan assets as well as utilizing surplus plan assets and ESOPs.
