Philip L. Mowery, Shareholder and member of the Vedder Price Employee Benefits group, will present at Practising Law Institute’s (PLI) “Acquiring or Selling the Privately Held Company 2013” on May 21–22, 2013 at the University of Chicago’s Gleacher Center in downtown Chicago, IL. Mr. Mowery’s program will discuss different aspects of employee benefits as they relate to the acquisition or sale of privately held companies, and will focus on topics such as identifying ERISA liabilities, integrating seller’s and buyer’s plans, transferring plan assets and utilizing surplus plan assets.
PLI’s “Acquiring or Selling the Privately Held Company 2013” is designed to walk you through all of the steps associated with acquiring and selling privately held companies, and will highlight topics such as analyzing the terms of an acquisition agreement, developing successful negotiation strategies and avoiding common drafting pitfalls when non-U.S. laws govern part or all of a deal.
