Mr. Johnston represents institutional and commercial clients in a variety of real estate related matters, focusing on acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, real estate finance, and construction matters, ranging from single site, $1,000,000 deals to complex transactions involving over 400 sites valuing in excess of $500,000,000.

Acquisitions and Dispositions: Mr. Johnston represents real estate investment companies, private equity firms, manufacturers, medical groups, and a diverse range of other clients with counsel in their real property acquisitions and dispositions of office, commercial, industrial, retail, multifamily, and other property types.

Leasing: Mr. Johnston represents landlord and tenants, as well as lenders and other interested parties, in the drafting and negotiation of office, industrial, commercial, medical, and retail leases.

Finance: Mr. Johnston advises institutional and commercial lenders and borrowers in a diverse range of real estate finance transactions, including leasehold financing, covering medical, industrial, office, retail and commercial properties.

Construction: Prior to his law career, Mr. Johnston worked as a construction engineer and project manager for a full-service national builder.  Building on this, Mr. Johnston represents contractors and owners alike, as well as architects, designers, and construction industry parties, to represent such clients in negotiation of construction documents and assist in construction administration in a variety of construction matters.
