Mr. Alexander focuses his practice on managing intricate regulatory, transactional and enforcement issues for health care providers and suppliers. These include physician practices, outpatient rehabilitation therapy providers, home health care providers, behavioral health providers, hospitals, and medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturers. He also represents a variety of health industry-focused private equity companies.

Mr. Alexander assists clients with various complex transactions, including mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, public offerings, investments in health care companies and financing transactions.  He handles transactional due diligence, identifies and resolves regulatory issues, and counsels clients regarding change of ownership and regulatory approvals. 

Mr. Alexander frequently advises clients on matters regarding federal and state fraud and abuse laws (for example, the Stark Law and Anti-Kickback Statute), Medicare and Medicaid rules, privacy and security laws, state corporate practice of medicine issues, and provider licensure and enrollment.

He is skilled in drafting and negotiating health care commercial agreements, group purchasing agreements, and stock purchase and merger agreements. In addition, Mr. Alexander has advised clients seeking medical device reimbursements on issues such as coding and coverage for new technologies.

Mr. Alexander also counsels health care and life sciences companies on matters concerning the privacy and security of protected patient health information under various federal and state privacy laws, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and similar state laws.
