London Employment Associate Daniel Stander was quoted in an article in Personnel Today which looks into an independent review that took place after a series of thefts at the British Museum, where a former employee is suspected of stealing around 2,000 items.
Stander said, “suspension can be a necessary and recommended step to conduct a reasonable and fair investigation, especially in cases where the presence of the employee might hinder the process.” Stander adds that this is far more challenging after an employee has been dismissed has left the organisation.
