Blaine C. Kimrey to Participate in 13th Annual Entertainment & Media Law Conference
Blaine C. Kimrey, a Shareholder in the Chicago office and a member of the firm's Litigation practice area, will serve as a panelist at Southwestern Law School's 13th Annual Entertainment & Media Law Conference on Thursday, January 14 in Los Angeles. This year, the half-day seminar, presented by Southwestern's Donald E. Biederman Entertainment and Media Law Institute and the Media Law Resource Center, will highlight and review the impact the Sony cybersecurity attacks have had on the entertainment and legal industries over the past year.
Not only is the media industry threatened by private and state-sponsored hackers, but the state and federal governments also often target the media with their own demands for information. Mr. Kimrey's panel session, "On the Digital Battlements—Dealing with Hackers, Enemy States and the U.S. Government," will examine a hypothetical cybersecurity hack and will address the many privacy concerns and litigation threats that may arise during such a crisis.
