Mr. Gibson focuses his practice on a broad range of financings involving various asset types and portfolios of equipment, concentrating particularly on commercial and corporate aviation finance. He advises financiers, lessors and airlines in connection with the leasing and financing of commercial and corporate aircraft on a broad range of cross-border leasing and financing transactions, including ECA-supported and tax based financings. He covers procurement, portfolio transactions and operating leases for a range of major industry participants.

In addition to Mr. Gibson’s commercial aviation experience, he also acts on behalf of financiers and train operating companies in connection with the financing and leasing of rolling stock.

Mr. Gibson was ranked in the Chambers 2020 and 2021 Asia-Pacific Guide in the Aviation: Finance category as Band 4. The guide commended him for his significant experience working on major aircraft financing transactions. Since 2018, Mr. Gibson was recognized among the world’s leading aviation attorneys by Euromoney Legal Media Group’s Expert Guides.  He was also ranked in Chambers UK Guide, in the Asset Finance: Aviation Finance category, in 2017. In 2022 and 2023 he was editorially recommended by the Legal 500 Asia Pacific Singapore Asset Finance: Foreign Firms category, and the Transport and Leasing Finance category in 2025.
