Governor Newsom approved many new employment laws taking effect on January 1, 2023. These laws, together with recent court decisions, impose new compliance challenges on employers in California.
What is changing in 2023?
This webinar will provide an overview of many notable changes coming on January 1. Some of the significant new laws we plan to cover include:
- SB 1162, Pay data reporting and pay scale disclosures
- SB 1044, Emergency Conditions – Prohibition on adverse employment actions
- AB 1949 & AB 1041, Protections for bereavement leave and leave protections for a "designated person"
- AB 2188, Off-the-Job cannabis use protection
- AB 152 & AB 2693, Extended COVID-19 supplemental paid sick leave and workplace posting requirements
