Governor Newsom announced many changes taking effect on January 1, 2021. These new employment laws, together with recent court decisions, impose new compliance challenges on employers in California.
What is changing in 2021?
This webinar will provide an overview of the most notable changes coming on January 1.
Some of the significant new laws we plan to cover include:
SB 1383, expanding the scope and coverage of the California Family Rights Act
AB 685 and SB 1159, providing COVID-19-related protections
AB 1867, an emergency measure providing COVID-19 paid sick leave to certain workers
SB 973, requiring private employers with 100 or more employees to submit wage data and extensive EEO-1 employee information on an annual basis to the DFEH
SB 2257, which creates several new exceptions to last year’s AB 5 independent contractor law
CLE & HRCI Credit
