Vedder Price Promotes Five New Shareholders
Vedder Price is pleased to announce that five attorneys have been named as Shareholders in the firm, effective April 1, 2019.
Rachel T. Copenhaver, elevated from Associate and a member of the firm’s Litigation practice area in Chicago, has significant experience representing clients in regulatory investigations and proceedings brought by the SEC, FDIC, U.S. Attorney’s Office and other federal and state agencies. She has been selected for inclusion as an Illinois Rising Star by Super Lawyers Magazine from 2014 to 2018, and as an Emerging Lawyer, an affiliate of Leading Lawyers, from 2014 to 2019. Ms. Copenhaver earned her J.D. from The University of Notre Dame Law School cum laude, her Master of Philosophy degree from the University of Cambridge and her B.A. from Yale University magna cum laude.
Daniel P. Jackson, elevated from Associate and a member of the firm’s Litigation practice area in Chicago, focuses his practice on representing financial institutions and equipment lessors and manufacturers in litigation matters throughout the U.S. Mr. Jackson has experience in all aspects of litigation, appeals and post-judgment proceedings, including arbitrations and bench and jury trials. He was selected as an Emerging Lawyer, an affiliate of Leading Lawyers, from 2016 to 2019. Mr. Jackson received his J.D. from The John Marshall Law School, cum laude, and his B.A. from the University of Illinois.
Lucky Meinz, elevated from Associate and a member of the firm’s Labor & Employment practice area in San Francisco, counsels employers on all aspects of employment law, including wrongful termination, retaliation, discrimination, breach of contract, non-compete, incentive compensation and other wage-and-hour matters. She is also an experienced litigator who has successfully defended single-plaintiff, representative, class and collective actions in arbitration, trial and appellate courts. Ms. Meinz was selected for inclusion on the Northern California Rising Stars list from 2014 to 2018. She earned her J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School, cum laude, her MSc from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and her B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley with high honors.
Cara J. Ottenweller, elevated from Associate and a member of the firm’s Labor & Employment practice area in Chicago, has successfully represented and defended employers in a variety of traditional labor and employment law matters and regularly counsels and advises clients on a broad range of day-to-day human resources and employment issues. Ms. Ottenweller was selected for inclusion as an Illinois Rising Star by Super Lawyers Magazine from 2014 to 2017 and as an Emerging Lawyer, an affiliate of Leading Lawyers, from 2015 to 2019. She earned her J.D. from Valparaiso University School of Law, magna cum laude, and her B.A. from Indiana University.
Clay C. Thomas, elevated from Associate and a member of the firm’s Global Transportation Finance team in Los Angeles, focuses his practice on the aviation and rail industries and has represented clients engaged in U.S. and cross-border sale, lease and financing transactions. In 2017 and 2018, Mr. Thomas was selected for inclusion in Euromoney’s LMG Rising Stars Expert Guide for Aviation. Mr. Thomas was also recognized by Leading Lawyers as an Emerging Lawyer in the category of Secured Transactions Law. He earned his J.D. from The University of Notre Dame Law School, cum laude, his M.S. from the University of Texas at Arlington and his B.S. from Oklahoma State University.
