Vedder Price Names Joseph Kye and Venu Talanki Vice Chairs of the Finance & Transactions Practice
We are pleased to announce that Joseph H. Kye and Venu V. Talanki have been named Vice Chairs of the firm’s Finance & Transactions practice group.
Mr. Kye joined Vedder Price in 2001 and became a Shareholder of the firm in 2006. He practices in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, private equity, venture capital, joint ventures and corporate law. He currently serves on the firm’s Diversity Committee and on the board of Urban Gateways, a Chicago-based non-profit organization which provides art and literature education to underprivileged children. Legal 500 United States recognized Mr. Kye in the Mergers, Acquisitions and Buyouts—M&A: Middle-Market (sub-$500m) category. He has also been selected by his peers as a Leading Lawyer in Mergers & Acquisitions from 2013 to 2018.
Mr. Talanki joined Vedder Price in 2005 and became a Shareholder of the firm in 2010. He advises financial institutions, private equity funds and corporate borrowers in a broad array of finance transactions, including leveraged, asset-based, cash flow, mezzanine, second lien, acquisition and bankruptcy-related lending transactions. He also counsels lenders and borrowers in complex restructurings and workouts of distressed companies. Mr. Talanki currently serves on the firm’s Diversity Committee and was Co-Founder of the South Asian Bar Association of Michigan. In 2013, he was honored by the M&A Advisor in the legal advisor category of the 4th Annual 40 Under 40 Recognition Awards.
