Vedder Price Featured in Law360 Article Following Pro Bono Initiative
Vedder Price was recently featured in a Law360 article which highlights the firm’s participation in a legal task force that filed more than 50 asylum applications for female Afghan former soldiers. Vedder Price, along with four other BigLaw firms, worked collectively to support the former soldiers, dividing the women’s applications among themselves.
“While the legal industry has seen coordinated pro bono efforts to address the Afghanistan and Ukraine refugee crises, abortion rights and racial injustice, such partnerships are still relatively new, and the Afghan Legal Task Force’s targeted focus on one organization in particular is fairly novel,” says Law360 author Madeline Lyskawa, who reported on the project.
Amal Rafiq, an Associate in Vedder Price’s Washington, DC office and a member of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee and Executive Compensation & Employee Benefits group, spearheaded Vedder Price’s involvement in this initiative.
