ABA’s Section of L&E Law 2013 Winter Meeting, Vedder Price Attorneys to Speak
Vedder Price Shareholders Thomas G. Hancuch and Charles B. Wolf and Associate Patrick W. Spangler will be speaking during the ABA’s Section of Labor and Employment Law’s 2013 Winter Meeting in Charleston, South Carolina. The Winter Meeting includes presentations covering the most recent and significant developments in the area of employee benefits. The panels will provide practical, substantive and engaging information, and present the perspectives of management, employee, union, in-house, government and academic counsel.
Mr. Hancuch’s session, “ACA: Implementation: Next Steps,” will address the major provisions of the ACA being implemented in the next two years and how plans and plan sponsors prepare for them. Mr. Wolf’s session is entitled “Current Issues In Withdrawal Liability Litigation And Arbitration.” It will focus on recent withdrawal liability cases with an emphasis on collection issues as they arise in both bankruptcy and other types of cases. Mr. Spangler’s session, “Current Compliance And Funding Issues For Multiemployer Plans,” will focus on concerns arising under the Pension Protection Act (PPA), the wrapping up of several PPA provisions, the use of alternative allocation rules for calculating withdrawal liability and other compliance and funding issues for multiemployer plans.
