Vedder Price is pleased to announce that it has joined the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) and as a member of the LCLD Fellows Program, has named Shareholder Venu Talanki as the firm’s Fellow.
LCLD is an organization of more than 275 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners who have dedicated themselves to creating a truly diverse U.S. legal profession. Their programs are designed to attract, inspire and nurture talent within organizations, helping a new and more diverse generation of attorneys ascend to positions of leadership.
“The mission of LCLD is consistent with our Diversity Committee’s mission and vision,” said Vedder Price Diversity Committee Chair and Shareholder Jeanah Park. “We strive to promote and support diversity within our firm by recruiting, hiring, retaining, training and advancing a diverse group of attorneys and other employees on the basis of demonstrated merit and performance and are proud to partner with a visionary organization such as LCLD that shares these values.”
Launched in 2011, LCLD’s landmark Fellows Program works by identifying high-potential attorneys from diverse backgrounds and setting them on the path to leadership of their organizations. Mr. Talanki’s Fellow year will consist of in-person conferences, interactive leadership events and extensive contact with other members of LCLD.
“I am honored to be named the firm’s first LCLD Fellow and look forward to connecting and collaborating with other diverse attorneys,” said Mr. Talanki. “LCLD is in line with and will further the firm’s already strong commitment to diversity. This partnership serves as a key part of our Vedder Diverse initiative.”
