Gabrielle M. Buckley Appointed Vice Chair of ABA’s Section of International Law
Gabrielle M. Buckley, Shareholder and member of the firm’s Corporate practice area, was recently appointed Vice Chair of the ABA’s Section of International Law. The appointment was announced at the ABA’s Annual Meeting in Toronto earlier this month.
The Section of International Law, which includes over 23,000 members across 90 countries, is a leader in international policy development, the promotion of the rule of law, and the education of international law practitioners. Ms. Buckley will become Chair of the Section in 2013.
Ms. Buckley was also re-appointed to the ABA’s Commission on Immigration. Among other activities, the 13-member Commission directs the ABA’s efforts to develop and implement immigration-related policy for the ABA, and advocates for changes in the law. It also provides continuing education to the bar and the public, and supports pro bono programs.
