Elizabeth N. Hall Elected Labor & Employment Practice Area Chair
Elizabeth N. Hall has been elected to serve as Chair of the Labor & Employment practice area and as a member of the Board of Directors at Vedder Price. In addition to her new roles, Ms. Hall has served as the Chicago office Chair for the firm’s women’s affinity group, Women at Vedder Empowering Success (WAVES), since 2016. Through WAVES, Ms. Hall helps to promote female attorneys’ advancement and to create support systems for attorney parents at the firm through Vedder’s New Parent Mentor Program.

A significant portion of Ms. Hall’s daily practice involves providing practical advice to employers and executives regarding a variety of employment-related issues. Most recently, she has counseled employers through the myriad of issues related to managing workforces through the COVID-19 pandemic. Ms. Hall has extensive experience in risk management, conducting and advising on high-stakes internal investigations, employee and applicant use of marijuana, wage and hour compliance, policy and handbook development, and drafting and negotiating severance, settlement and conciliation agreements and much more. Ms. Hall defends a wide range of employers against various claims, including those concerning discrimination, harassment, failure to accommodate disabilities, wrongful and retaliatory discharge, breach of contract, negligence, invasion of privacy and violations of the FMLA and wage and hour laws.
Ms. Hall has been recommended by The Legal 500 United States for the “Labor and Employment Disputes (including Collective Actions): Defense” category since 2017. In 2018, she was named to the Crain’s Custom Media “Chicago Notable Women Lawyers” list. She also was selected as an Emerging Lawyer from 2015 to 2020 and was selected as a Leading Lawyer in 2020 and 2021. From 2010 to 2015, Ms. Hall was selected for inclusion as an "Illinois Rising Star," and Super Lawyers named her one of the “Top Women Attorneys in Illinois” in the “Rising Star” category in 2013 and 2014.
