Edward Gross and Marc Klyman to Present at 55th Annual ELFA Convention
Shareholders Edward Gross and Marc Klyman are honored to present at the 55th Annual ELFA Convention in Palm Desert, CA on October 24 and 25. The annual convention is the largest and most important annual gathering of equipment finance industry leaders. Participants have the opportunity to examine and discuss a number of trends facing the industry, including changing customer needs, a new accounting standard that may challenge lessees and lessors to transition to a new set of rules and a presidential election that could trigger policy shifts.
Mr. Klyman’s breakout session, “A New Perspective on the Securitization of Equipment Leases,” will provide insights into the process of obtaining financing through the capital markets by means of a securitization transaction. He and his co-presenters will discuss the challenges for an issuer in a securitization transaction and provide tips for making a securitization transaction proceed more smoothly.
Mr. Gross’s breakout session, “Recent Legal Decisions: What You Don’t Know Can Negatively Impact Your Business,” will be held on the final day of the conference. He and his co-presenters will discuss how recent legal decisions have highlighted the important distinction between a true lease and a secured transaction, the transactional and enforcement implications when financing equipment transactions that include servicing of the equipment and other “bundled” deal terms, and the considerations when drafting damages remedies after a default (i.e., be precise, and don’t be greedy).
