Bryan Clark Quoted in University of Kansas Article on NHL Players’ Association
Associate Bryan Clark recently commented on Don Fehr, the Executive Director of the NHL Players’ Association, in the University of Kansas newspaper, KU Today. Mr. Fehr will speak at the 29th Annual Media & the Law Seminar on April 29th. Mr. Clark is program chair of the seminar, an annual continuing legal education event hosted by the University of Kansas School of Law and the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association Media Law Committee. Mr. Fehr will present during the luncheon portion of the seminar.
Mr. Clark commented on Mr. Fehr’s involvement with the seminar, saying, “Don Fehr is one of the leading figures in American sports law. He has been involved with some of the largest sports stories of the last few decades, including the arbitration decision that created free agency in Major League Baseball, a successful challenge to MLB owner collusion, the 1994–95 MLB strike and the 2012 NHL lockout.”
This year’s seminar will focus on the intersection of law and pop culture, discussing topics such as right of publicity issues related to NCAA athletes in video games and creative works, lessons to be learned from celebrity defamation and copyright cases, protecting free speech rights in the era of Internet lynch mobs and online harassment and more.
